Sandy was a lifelong seeker of truth and knowledge. Never content to skim surfaces, she dove deeply into subjects that fascinated her, often studying them intensely for years. She was fascinated by new anthropological, archaeological and mystical finds. She had a knack for finding leaders in her fields of study that were not afraid to challenge the status quo, just as she was unafraid to challenge it. Some of her favorite subjects of study were Astrology (a field where she showcased brilliance), Quantum Physics, Cosmology, Shamanism, Creative Writing, Ethnobotany and Ancient Civilizations. She drew inspiration from visionary authors and seekers like: Graham Hancock, Dr. Joe Dispenza, Dr. Bruce Lipton, Laird Scranton, Daniel Pinchbeck, Terrence McKenna, Rupert Sheldrake and more. She never stopped her pursuit to expand her consciousness and in the winter of her life she was on a quest of rediscovering harmony with nature through Druidism.
Sandy harbored a profound love for art, artists, and the creative process itself – embracing self-expression in all forms. She nurtured creativity in herself and others. Sandy explored various mediums: creative writing, painting vibrant artworks, crafting with delicate hands. Through her love of gardening that she shared with her husband she cultivated life and beauty. Her interior decorating style was eclectic, she transformed her space with love and everyone who stepped through her door could feel it. A gifted cook, Sandy savored almost every cuisine, using food as a tender expression of her loving spirit – sharing nourishment and joy with family and friends.
Sandy embodied unconditional love as a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a devoted champion for her entire family. Her bond with her son Jason was profoundly spiritual. It was a symbiotic connection of pure love and light ; soulmates incarnating, sharing triumphs and tribulations. She stood steadfast through Jason's courageous battle with Cystic Fibrosis, navigating every obstacle alongside him. She celebrated every triumph with equal fervor. When Jason’s journey ended on January 28th, 2008 at age 36, Sandy held his hand granting gentle permission for him to transition, easing his passage with loving grace. This selfless devotion repeated with loved ones who followed, her Father, Sister Christine, Mother and Husband. Through life's intense sorrows, Sandy remained constant ; transforming pain to ease suffering and loving without condition until the end.
That same love and eternal devotion was showered upon her daughter Alexandra & two grandchildren, Dominic and Alexis. She was a proud Mother and Grandmother who celebrated every achievement, supported every interest, and fueled all emerging passions. Her endless encouragement inspired confidence in each one of them as they shared precious moments together. She spent every moment loving, supporting, encouraging, and inspiring her daughter and her grandchildren – forever shaping their hearts.
Her compassion knew no bounds – she believed deeply in humanity and basic human rights. The suffering of others, especially children, pierced her soul, fueling her desire to end pain and misery universally. She fearlessly opposed hate in all forms, particularly racism, while comforting those around her and spreading joy in challenging times. If she could have ended pain and misery for all, there is no doubt in our minds that she would have. However, for her part, she effortlessly eased the anguish of those around her. She comforted and laughed with us, always reminding us not to take ourselves too seriously. She found ways to pull joy out of the most challenging experiences and encouraged us to be more present, aware, appreciative of what we have. We knew her as a gifted soothsayer, she intuitively knew how to guide a weary soul. She made our hearts feel seen, loved, and valued without ever claiming mystical sight. Though unable to erase global suffering, Sandy illuminated existence – in her presence, darkness faded. She painted life with vibrant colors, filling spaces with light, love, laughter, and compassion.
