Adele Haverty Bealer

1952-2017

Adele Haverty Bealer passed away on December 12, 2017 of cancer. She was 66. Adele was born in Memphis TN on July 26, 1951. She graduated from Hutchison School, and attended Emory University and Memphis State University. Adele was then a CPA in Memphis for 25 years before moving to Salt Lake City, UT. There she earned a Ph.D. in Literature from the University of Utah in 2014, and taught for several years in the University’s School of Business and English Department.

Adele is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Florence Haverty, her brother, Bob Haverty, and her daughter, Katherine Whitlock. She is survived by her husband, Steve Bealer, her sister, Cindy Haverty, both of Collierville, and step-daughter Tracy Bealer of Queens, NY.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 19 at the Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 5599 Poplar Avenue, between 5 and 7 PM. A memorial service will be held at St. George’s Episcopal Church, 2425 S. Germantown Road, Germantown, TN at 11 AM on Wednesday, December 20, 2017, with the interment immediately following in the church Columbarium, there will be a reception at her home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you honor Adele’s legacy with a donation to the American Cancer Society, or to a charity of your choice.
