Alan graduated from Christian Brothers High School and Christian Brothers University. He built a successful career in finance, starting as a trader at Duncan Williams, continuing at Morgan Keegan and 1st Tennessee, and later co-founding A & D Properties with his good friend Dave Howe.
An avid sports fan, Alan was devoted to the Chicago Cubs and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, often traveling to watch their games. Highlights include attending a Cubs World Series game in Chicago in 2016 and a memorable Notre Dame game in South Bend, IN with his dear sister Teri in 2017. Alan was also a devout member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Unbeknownst to many, he followed in the deep faith footsteps of his dear Mother Madaline. Madaline always called him her ‘go-to guy.’
Alan’s loved ones remember him as a smart and quick-witted man with a soft heart, especially for his grandson, Lennon. He was the beloved son of Madaline and the late Leonard Jankowski. He was preceded in death by his sister Teri Trotter. He leaves behind his best friend and son Jacob, daughter-in-law Brooklyn, and grandson Lennon, sister Andi Johnson, his longest friend (husband Dennis and children Zach and Rachel), brother Paul (wife Sandra and children Lexie, Avery, Allie and granddaughter Amaya, and Jenna), brother Dale (wife Kate and sons Maxwell and Logan), brother-in-law Brad Trotter (children Lanie and William), and brother Michael (Andria). They’re a close-knit family that treasures their times together. He also leaves behind more friends than he ever knew.
Alan will be honored at a private Celebration of Life.
In lieu of flowers and to honor Alan’s wishes to provide for the education of his grandson, contributions may be made by check payable to Lennon Jankowski, 4507 Dee Road, Memphis, TN 38117 or to a charity of your choice.
