Alan Clyde Smith, age 59, loved the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and went to be with them April 22 ,2022. Alan was born June 20,1962 in Tacoma, WA, to Mary Carpenter and Ray Smith. He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Smith and his step-brother, Kevin Carpenter, whom he loved dearly.
Alan attended Kirby Woods Baptist Church, where he made many friends. Alan was a very loving person with a great sense of humor. He was a loving son, brother, and father; he loved reading, playing games on his tablet, working word search puzzles and writing sticky notes. He was a buddy to his stepfather David and helped with his daily care. He will be dearly missed by all.
He leaves behind his beloved son, Coty Lockhart (his expecting wife Carley); his mother, Mary Carpenter; his stepfather, David Carpenter; his brother, Perry Smith; his step-brother, Keith Carpenter; his step-sister, Ivy Akins (husband Ricky); his niece, Kristen Smith and her children, Jackson, Chloe, and Christopher; his aunt, Peggy Warren and many more loved cousins.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 10am until 11am with services to follow at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN 38122.
