Albert “Al” Lamar Childress, 94, passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2017. He was an Army Veteran of WWII and a retired Electrical Sales Manufacturers Representative. Al was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church since 1946 where he taught Sunday school for over 60 years and served as chairman to both the Building Committee and Pulpit Committee. He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Lynn Childress; one son, Mark A. Childress of Hernando, MS; one daughter, Debby L. Mattei of Memphis, TN; two grandsons, Drew Dennis (Shantee’) and Bret Dennis both of Florida; four great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. His family will receive friends at Bellevue Baptist Church on Thursday, September 7th, from 11 am to 12 pm with funeral service starting at 12 pm.
