

ANTOINETTE HUBBUCH GEHRING, born March 2, 1915 in Louisville, KY, passed away Friday, September 3, 2010 in Memphis, TN She was preceded in death by her mother, Lillian Morley Stabile, father, Benjamin Stabile and adoptive parents Jacob and Eugenia Morley Hubbuch. Antoinette was married to Dr. Harry Lee Gehring in 1937. He preceded her in death in 1981. She is survived by her sons Harry Gehring Jr. (Margaret) of Duluth, MN and Dr. Stephen Gehring (Susan) of Watertown, SD and daughter Jamie Gehring Dance of New Canaan, CT. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Antoinette graduated from Presentation Academy in Louisville and attended Nazareth College. She was an accomplished pianist, dancer, and violinist. After marriage, she became active in the Louisville District Dental Auxiliary, serving in numerous positions including President. She was active in the Queen’s Daughters, a Catholic women’s organization in Louisville, KY. When she and her husband retired to Fort Myers Beach, FL in 1977, they enjoyed boating and fishing in the Gulf of Mexico. After Harry’s death in 1981, she took up competitive bridge with much success. She moved to Memphis in 2009 to be closer to her family, particularly Stephanie Dance Tancredi and Anne Gehring Boberski and their families. The great-grandchildren were a particular delight, especially, her youngest, Margaret Anne, now 9 months old. The family will receive friends at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, Poplar Ave., on Tuesday, September 7 from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 p.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:30 p.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church.
