She was one of my teachers when I attended Humes Jr. High School. She always wore that beautiful smile and was always a pleasant person to be in the company of. I will miss you Dr. Coleman Terry.

To the family of Dr. Aretha Coleman Terry. I just want to say that say she was an amazing teacher at Snowden Jr High.  At first I thought she was really strict. As I stayed in her class I saw how serious she felt about educating her students. Once I took time to know her I realized how thoughtful and kind she was. She was truly a blessing to Snowden and Memphis City Schools. I pray for the strength and comfort of her family,  friends, and those close to her.

Now that I’ve had time to process everything, Dr. Aretha Coleman-Terry , My Godmom…you will be missed. To know you was to love you. I will never forget while being in 9th grade(1995-96), at Snowden Jr. High in your homeroom (9-1), you asked me to be your godson. I was soooo happy because I had favor with teachers, but they had never asked me to be their Godchild. From traveling, freshmen combo, birthdays, my salon opening, house warming, my wedding, baby shower, ministry….you were there..,sowing and encouraging…and your love for me NEVER wavered. You would often tell me how proud you are of me..,and that pushed me even harder. The life lessons you instilled in not only me, but everyone that crossed your path, will always be in our hearts. I love you sooo much. This took me by surprise. I’m so glad I as able to come and see you and pray over you the day before you transitioned. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Kim, Kiersten, and I will always love you Mrs. Terry. I will NEVER forget you…the friendship….the laughs…the love. You were truly one of a kind. Take your rest Godmom. #mygodmomfor31years

I was blessed to overcome math anxiety because the Lord chose her to be my 9th grade math teacher at Snowden. I was also blessed to teach alongside her at White Station during her retirement year! Just to have that amount of time with her was truly a privilege.  May all of us continue to cherish the memories made with such a phenomenal woman of GOD! Dr. ACT - Rest in Heavenly Peace 🫶🏽❤️🫶🏽

Many our Precious Lord and Savior wrap His arms around your family, and offer nourishing reflections of life.  So that each thought that you have, pushes away some of the pain, and releases joy for many days she lived, enjoying life.  And, may each tear that falls, remind you of love and how precious it is to experience life.

I am so sad to have lost a precious woman of God in my life. She was a wonderful neighbor and friend.  She was loving and caring and  a good steward of her faith. I will miss her wonderful smile and encouragement. Until we see each other again, ❤️

Your Sister blessed so many with her life especially me. I am so thankful to our God for allowing our paths to cross on this side of eternity.

I shall never forget the first time I met her. It was in my sister's kitchen. Never before had I encountered someone who was so beautiful with God's love emanating  through them.

She and my sister, Cheryl had become friends only a few months before. Somewhere in their conversations, she became aware of my like of chitterlings.  Without ever having met or talked , she had prepared the best I had ever eaten.

She later invited me to her Birthday party.

She will always be a part of my spiritual growth.

Beautiful person, beautiful spirit, may the family rejoice in love when they think about her memory.

Rest Well my dear friend Dr. Aretha Coleman-Terry!  I’m grateful that our paths crossed early in life. I will forever remember your beautiful radiant smile.  We shared Educational, Social and most importantly Spiritual moments together.

My condolences to the family. I noticed Dr. Terry in Friday morning prayer, it had been over 45 years since I seen her. When I told her how I knew her she was so stunned.  Dr Terry was my teacher at Humes Jr High. It was such a pleasure seeing her after that day. 
We had such a wonder time that day in prayer. She will be missed
