Arthur Johnson "Aj" Walton

Arthur Johnson “A.J.” Walton, 75, of Memphis, passed away on Tuesday, August 2nd, 2016. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Lee Walton. Mr. Walton is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Martha Jackson Walton, two daughters, Adell Tripson (Chad) and Becky Thomas (John), four grandchildren, Ainsley, Abby, Emma and Will Thomas, mother, Eller Norine Walton, three sisters, June Walton, Sandra Smith, and Rosamary Posey, and his loyal dog Mary. Mr. Walton has been a member of Central Church for over 40 years. He was best known there as “Mr. Donut.” Mr. Walton graduated from Memphis State where he was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha, receiving the highest award, The Order of Merit. He was also in the Army Reserve. Mr. Walton had a lifetime of service in the insurance industry. The family cordially invites friends to gather for a time to share remembrances of “AJ” on Friday, the 5th of August, from 5-8pm at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Ave. in Memphis. The funeral will be held on Saturday, the 6th of August, at 10am at Central Church, 2005 E. Winchester Blvd. in Collierville. The Rite of Committal will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
