Barbara Collins

Barbara Collins passed away on June 16, 2022 at Methodist Germantown after a lengthy and determined battle against MS and other illnesses.Barbara was born on December 3, 1940 to Russell and Hermene (“Tiny”) Brown in St. Louis, MO.

She married Kenneth L. Collins in 1956 and shared over 60 years as his loving, supportive partner. She spent most of her life as a “Navy Military Wife”, willingly moving to numerous parts of the country to support Ken and his Navy career. Following Ken’s death, Barbara found a new, permanent home at The Village at Germantown. Barbara leaves behind her son Dale (Marianne) and five grandchildren, Kimberly Jordan and Kelly Miller, Maria Wyatt, Megan Collins, and Josh Collins, and the memories of her deceased husband, Ken, and her deceased son, Steve.

Barbara was always your greatest flatterer and supporter if you were her friend, child, or grandchild. In spite of her struggle over 20 years with MS, Barbara fought to always keep moving and look her best. Her love of glittery jewelry, clothing, and caps and a good garage sale brought smiles to her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by them.

A peaceful, family service will be held on Monday, June 27, 2022 from 10:00 AM until 10:20 AM at West Tennessee State Veteran Cemetery, 4000 Forest Hill Irene Rd., Memphis, TN 38125.
