Barbara Jean Lane

Barbara Lipsey Lane, of Germantown, TN, died on March 6, 2016 at her home. She was 79 years old. Born in Memphis, TN on January 6, 1937 to John & Frances Seboly Sumer; Barbara graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic School. She is a dedicated and devoted Catholic who worked for National Bank of Commerce, now SunTrust Bank for over 37 years as a Branch Manager & Vice President. She donated many hours working in the Catholic Soup Kitchen feeding the hungry and was a member of the Memphis Dental Auxiliary. There will be a gathering for family and friends to share stories and refreshments on Wednesday, March 9 from five o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening. The funeral mass will be held on Thursday, March 10 beginning at eleven o’clock in the morning at the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit. Barbara was preceded in death by her daughter Alanna G. Lipsey. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Edward Lane, Sr. whom she married on February 17, 1990 at Holy Spirit. She is also survived by her son Bill (April) Lipsey; step-sons Ben (Bridgette) Lane & Dr. Edward (Kim) Lane, Jr., sisters Frances Ronza, Ann Metko and Mary Machael; and eight grandchildren.
