Barbara "Tootie" Samons

BARBARA ANN “Tootie” ROBERTS SAMONS, 83, of Memphis, TN, died peacefully at Baptist Trinity Hospice, Saturday, September 15, 2012. She was a member of the Fulton Cumberland Presbyterian Church of South Fulton, TN, and later a member of Shady Grove Presbyterian Church in Memphis. Tootie was beloved by many. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Don Samons and her parents, Pete and Martha Roberts. She is survived by her daughters, Lynn Samons Russell of Memphis and Donna Samons Morley (Steve) of Germantown, and her grandson, Warner Russell (Katelyn); 3 sisters, Mary Frances Wilson (Ray), Martha Jane McKnight, Carolyn Edwards (Jimmy); and her niece, Becki McKnight. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 18 at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. with a service immediately following at 1 p.m. A private family burial service will be later at Memphis Memory Gardens.
