Billy Lee Stephens, Sr. of Memphis, TN, 91, passed away on March 29, 2016. He was born December 23, 1924 in Memphis, TN, to the late William C. Stephens and Dee Tipton Almond. He was a member of Central Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Betty Eanes Stephens and son
John Gary Stephens. He is survived by a son Billy Lee Stephens, Jr. (Melissa), two granddaughters, Kristen Stephens and Hannah Stephens, a great grandson
Jack Bonham Stephens all of Memphis. Billy retired from Burlington Northern Railroad after 40 years of service. He was a member of the National Railroad
Historical Society and the Memphis Model Railroad. He was a member of the classic airplane clubs, the Beechcraft Stagger Wing Club and the Monocoupe club. Billy served in WWII with the 315th Bomb Wing on Guam and was also a flight engineer in the Air Force Reserve. Memorials can be made to the Memphis Union Mission or Donors Choice. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1-2 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2016 at Family Funeral Care with the service to follow at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
