Catherine Sue Ferguson, age 79, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2023. She was born December 7, 1943, in Milan, Tennessee, to Buel Austin Carroll and Ludie Virginia Hillard Carroll. She graduated from Whitehaven High School and the University of Southern Mississippi. She previously worked for Miller Hawkins Business College and later retired from Memphis City Schools. Sue was a member of and very active at St. Louis Catholic Church.
In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her late husband, Paul Franklin Ferguson and brother, Buel "Buddy" Austin Carroll, Jr. She is survived by her son, Benjamin Ferguson and her two sisters, Virginia Ruth Carroll Powell and Charlotte Nancy Carroll Taylor (Gene).
A rosary service for Catherine will be held Friday, September 8 at 9:30 AM, at St. Louis Catholic Church. A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 AM to be followed by a reception afterwards, also at the church. Memorial donations may be directed to St. Louis Catholic Church, 203 South White Station Road, Memphis, TN 38117.
