

Born and raised in Catlettsburg, Kentucky, Charlie was the youngest of 8 children. He retired from the U.S. Navy in 1974, graduated from Memphis State, and finally retired from his career as a manager in aircraft parts for FedEx in 1994.
Along with his parents and 7 siblings, Charlie was also preceded in death by his wife of 31 years, Helen Armstrong whom was a long time secretary at Bartlett United Methodist Church; and his sweet boy cat, Bud.
Mr. Armstrong is survived by his wife of 23 years Barbara Oliver Halloran Armstrong who was also his caregiver the last eight of those years. He is also survived by his daughter Denise (Scot) Cherry of Bartlett, TN; sons Chuck (Laura) Armstrong of Biloxi, MS and Chris (LeeAnn) Halloran.
Charlie and Barbara enjoyed ballroom dancing and bus tours in Europe before he started his dialysis program eight years ago.
Charlie was one of the really good men!
The family asks any donations in Charlie's honor be sent to any Shriner's Hospital for Children or the Gary Sinise Foundation.
