Son of Charles and Blanch (Richardson) Lenahan, Charles lived in Memphis the majority of his life until he moved to Arkansas to live with his daughter in 2021.
At the age of 18 Charles joined the United States Marine Corp and served for six years.
He married the love of his life Brenda Sue Presswood on May 25, 1968 and they spent almost 51 years enjoying the life they had built with their children; Russel Lenahan (Beverly) of Rosebud, Arkansas, Tina Reaper (Eric) of Pangburn, Arkansas; and John Lenahan (Heaven) of Orlando, Florida.
Charles retired from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department in 2005 after serving 34 years and earning the title of Lieutenant.
Charles was of the Catholic Faith and spent his life worshiping the One and Only God, who is the Trinity (the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit).
Charles was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Surviving members include his children; grandchildren: Kurtis Lenahan, Heath Clyatt, Kody Lenahan, and Justin Lenahan; great-grandchildren: Chezney Clyatt, Haisley Lenahan, and Adlee Clyatt.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 11th from 9 - 10am at Family Funeral Care on Summer Avenue in Memphis, Tennessee. Services will begin at 10:00am with Rev. Timothy Altom officiating.
Pallbearers will be Heath Cyatt, Justin Lenahan, Billy Rae Meadows, Terrell King, Deric Reaper, and Chezney Clyatt.
Honorary Pallbearers are Judge Tim Dwyer, and Buddy Andrews.
