Danny Charles Penny

Dan was a man who never met a stranger, and he’d give you the shirt off his back in a heartbeat. His dry sense of humor was hilarious, and he could build anything with his hands. He never liked to be idle and would always find a way to be working on something. He loved his family, his animals, and his sweet tea. He was a great husband, father, and Gran-Dan, and he will be dearly missed.

Born in Little Rock, Ark. on July 16, 1947, Dan a son to the late Charles Adrian Penny and Virginia (Wilson) Penny Wacaster.

He is survived by his beloved wife Dianne Penny; his children, Daniel Scott Penny and wife Allison of St. Augustine, Flo., Blake Shirley, Courtney Shinall, Brittney Tenner and husband Billy, all of Memphis, Tenn., and Justin Wideman and wife Luz of Nesbit, Miss.; 11 grandchildren; and his siblings Steve Penny and wife Debbie, Greg Penny and wife Sonya, all of Conway, Ark., and Tanya Gotcher and husband Steve of Vilonia, Ark.

The family will receive friends and family from 10am-12pm Wednesday, July 9 at Family Funeral Care located at 4925 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN 38122.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation in Dan's memory to the animal shelter of your choice to honor his deep love and adoration for animals.
