Darrell was born August 26, 1963 in Nashville, Tennessee. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys; enjoyed collecting antique furniture, antique cars, and riding motorcycles; and had a passion for rebuilding and creating model cars and figurines.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Slush, and brother, Jackie Van Story. Darrell is survived by his daughters, Jessica Dotson (Jacob) and Cristian Bowers (Micah); sisters, Jammie, Pam, Cindy, and Ty; mother, Bea Slush; grandsons, Beau Dotson and Leland Bowers; and fiancé, Christi Donald.
A private gathering will be held in Nashville for the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be sent to the American Cancer Society.
