

Born August 2, 1943, Wilson graduated from Kingsbury High School and served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. After his military service he built a long career as an HVAC technician, retiring from FedEx after 22 years of dedicated service.
Wilson shared 60 loving years of marriage with his wife, Jo Michael. He is survived by his daughter and son‑in‑law, Shelly and Mike Misenheimer; his son and daughter‑in‑law, Jason and Kim Michael; seven cherished grandchildren, Hannah and Callie Misenheimer and her husband, Jake Butler, Carlos Gin, and Skylar, Evan, and Aidan Michael; and his sister and brother‑in‑law, Becky and Henry Smith as well as many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind a cherished friendship with his brother-in-law, Jim Dowdy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Darwin Wilson Michael, Sr. and Sue Michael; his brother, Patrick Michael; his sister, Debbie Michael Herring; and his sister, Connie Michael Brandon.
Wilson will be cremated and his ashes will be buried at the West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on Forest Hill Irene in Memphis, Tennessee. A small family memorial will be held in January, followed by the burial of his ashes.
The family appreciates the care and compassion of his entire medical team and the support of friends and neighbors. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a Parkinson’s research or Veterans’ service organization of your choice.
Wilson will be remembered for his friendship, commitment to service, and deep devotion to family. He never met a stranger and was a friend to all, known for his warm smile, easy conversation, and steady presence.
