Dina was born January 30, 1935 in Albion, Nebraska. Dina’s grew up on her parents’ farm. Following high school, she worked at the Attorney General’s office in Lincoln Nebraska as a secretary.
In April 1957 her adventure really began when she married Franklin D. Eisenbraun at the onset of his military career and became a pilot wife. They were married at the Base Chapel on Lincoln Air Force Base in Lincoln, Nebraska. The day she and Frank married, they loaded up everything they owned and left for Pilot Training at Hondo Air Base in Texas. Following their first assignment, many other assignments followed that would take them all over the United States. In 1958, she took on a new role as a mother when their first son, Dan, was born, while stationed at Dow AFB in Bangor, ME. While at Dow AFB, she gave birth to her second son, Steve, a year and a half later. In 1963, she gave birth to her third son, Joe, while stationed at Merced AFB, California. In 1971, after moving to Columbus, Ohio, and while assigned to Lockbourne AFB, Dina gave birth to her fourth son, David.
During her marriage to Frank, she toured with her husband and family and their adventure would take them to many Air Force Base destinations: Lincoln AFB – Lincoln, Nebraska; Hondo Air Base - Hondo, Texas; Vance AFB - Enid, Oklahoma; Randolph AFB - San Antonio, Texas; Dow AFB - Bangor, Maine; Merced AFB - Atwater, California; Beale AFB - Sacramento, California; KI Sawyer AFB - Marquette MI (in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan); Shepard AFB – Wichita Falls, Texas; and Lockbourne AFB – Columbus, Ohio. In 1972, Dina’s military adventures concluded when her husband. Lt. Col. Frank Eisenbraun, retired from the USAF and started a new career as a pilot for Federal Express in Memphis, TN.
In 1973, Frank, Dina and their boys moved to Germantown, Tennessee. Dina’s new adventure as a Federal Express pilot’s wife led to many opportunities for her to serve her community as well as start a new role in the FedEx Pilot Wives Club. Dina and Frank raised their family in Germantown, Tennessee and moved to Collierville, TN in 1994.
After Frank’s retirement, they enjoyed spending time around the kitchen table, which was always a focal point for family dinners and discussions throughout the years. Many “war stories” were told at that table. Dina enjoyed weekly trips to the Casinos in Tunica, MS and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. She admired her roses and enjoyed watching the birds at her bird feeders. She will be missed by her family.
