Dolph Allen Sims, 86, of Memphis, died on June 3, 2013. He proudly served in the United States Navy in World War II and retired from Memphis Light, Gas and Water. He was a longtime member of Bellevue Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, taught children and helped with the bus ministry. Mr. Sims was preceded in death by his son William Allen Sims. He leaves his wife of 65 years, Inez Sims; a daughter Lorraine (Bernie) Mullikin and a son Mark (Marsha) Sims. He also leaves eight grandchildren and a sister, Mary Lou McKnight of Braden. The family will receive guests from 9AM until funeral services begin at 11AM on Tuesday, June 11 all at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens located at 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38119. Military honors will be rendered at the conclusion of the funeral home service and a light luncheon will follow all the services.
