Donald Cleveland Nash, born June 25th 1953, peacefully passed on February 2nd, 2021 at the age of 67. Don was born in New Haven, CT, grew up in Somerset, NJ where he met his wife of 44 years, and later found his home in Memphis, TN through his service as a United States Navy Corpsman. Over the years, he served numerous roles within his community, including a volunteer firefighter and EMS first responder.
His hobbies often included his family, however, he was the kind of person that liked to work behind the scenes. He served as a board member for theatrical arts within his community and was very passionate about his Barbershop Harmony Society Chapter, the Memphis Men of Harmony. He held many offices and formed many friendships within the MMoH organization.
In his professional career, he could be characterized as a “jack of all trades”. A small list of his work history are as follows: Gas Station Attendant, Bank Loan Officer, Manager, Chemical Processing Technician, Factory Worker (rubber, pharmaceuticals, molded plastics, conveyors, and more) Corpsman, Pharmacy Technician, Systems Analyst, Systems Administrator, IT Specialist, however...his greatest working legacy would be built with his friends at Methodist Hospital, whom of which he retired with in 2019. His extended family not only includes his friends from the BHS, but also his friends from Methodist Hospital.
Don is survived by his wife, Sherry Nash, daughter Shannon Murphy (Joseph), son Donald Cleveland Nash Jr. (Amanda), and six grand-daughters; Melody, Addison, Destiny, Kylie, Natalie, & Clara.
His funeral is scheduled for February 23, 2021 at West Tennessee Veteran’s Cemeter
