Our precious mother left us to grieve her passing early Friday April 15th, 3 days before her 94th birthday. Apparently, she had party plans we didn't know about ! She was preceded in death by her parents, Imogene and Harold Davis, and one grandson, Randy Blythe.
She leaves her son, John Blythe (Jenny), daughters Carolyn Harwell (Lee), and Peggy Parish. She is celebrating right now with her beloved husband, Bill Ashabranner. They were lucky enough to find one other in their later years, and had a wonderful, fun filled marriage, fully of travel, and good times. She has missed him every minute since his passing.
Mama leaves 5 grandchildren: Debbie and Bobby Blythe, Marcus Bryan, Tiffany Parish Akin, and Keith Parish, plus 6 great grandchildren, Ellen Ashley Authement, Justin and Briley Bryan, Arizona Akin, and Ian and Ainsley Parish.
Mama retired from St Joseph Hospital, having worked in almost every department there for many years. Prior to that, she worked alongside her mother in the family owned insurance business. Somehow, though, she always found time to plant flowers, play Bunco with her friends, faithfully attend her church, or play a game of Parcheesi or jacks with us. She said roller skating and too much dancing ruined her knees, but she had so much fun doing it!
As she told us repeatedly, she had outlived all her family and friends. She was so ready to go see all of them again!
In her final years, as long as she had her two faithful kitty companions, coffee, chocolate, and a Bingo card, she was content.
We thank you, Mama, for being such a good mother, you sacrificed for the 3 of us when times were hard, and did your very best to teach us right from wrong, kindness, and strong work ethics. We admired and respected you so much. With great love, John, Carolyn, and Peg
