DOROTHY “JEAN” REAVES BROWNLEE, 85, was called Home to Glory on Monday, July 28,2014. Jean was a member of Bartlett Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and also retired from Sears. Jean was a gifted artist and seamstress, loved reading and puzzles. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Alvie Earnest Brownlee, and youngest son, Michael Brownlee. Jean is survived by her daughter, Sandra Shipley(Butch); son David Brownlee(Dawn); sister, Layne Coombs; brother, James Roy Reaves(Verna); five grandchildren, Tom Lawrence(April), Zack Brownlee, Dean Shipley, Barry Spain(Sabrina), and Justin Michael; five great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Dewey Brownlee; nephews, nieces and friends. The family would like to thank the staff and friends of South Breeze Assisted Living and Methodist Hospice for their care, concern, and friendship of “Ms. Jean”. Visitation will be 1 pm Friday, August 1 with service at 2 pm at Family Funeral Care. Burial will follow at Memphis Memory Gardens.
