A devoted member of St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church for over 50 years, Edna was also a caring homemaker and shared her personal love of cooking, sewing, quilting, and crocheting with her family and friends throughout her life. For over 20 years, she combined her many artistic talents to craft handmade miniature thread-spool doll beds she gave as her heart-felt gift to several generations of children.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents, Jason and Cora (Jones) Thompson; her beloved husband, Charles H. Neumann; her sisters, Mattie Fuller, Elizabeth Dobyns, and fraternal twin, Mary Sanders. Edna is survived by her son, William T. Neumann (Tucson, Arizona), nieces, nephews and many dear friends and members of her extended family across the country.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, December 17, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel. A funeral and remembrance service will be held Thursday, December 18, at St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church at the corner of Kimball and Prescott at 11:00 a.m. Edna will join her husband, Charles, once again, at her final resting place at Memorial Park Mausoleum on Popular.
