Elizabeth Cain Allen

Elizabeth Cain Allen, Hickory Withe, TN, entered God’s rest on February 19, 2017. Her beloved husband of 55 years, Clarence Allen, Jr., preceded her to God’s rest as well as her parents, Robert L. Cain, Sr., and Ida Elizabeth Pender Cain; her brothers, Robert L. Cain, Jr., and Charles N. Cain’ her sisters, Connie Cain Sanders and Catherine Cain Pickle. She is survived by her sister, Linda Cain Allen, Olive Branch, MS; her daughter Sandra Allen Ruben, Pensacola, FL., nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and many beloved nephews and nieces. She was a retired Supervisory Employee Relations Specialist, Office of Civilian Personnel, U.S. Defense Logistics Agency, Defense Depot Memphis. She was a staunch advocate of animal causes, Veterans, and many other benevolent organizations. She was a member of the O.K. Houck Order of the Eastern Star; served on the Board of Regents, Liberty University, Lynchburg, VA for many years and was a loyal supporter of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews. Memorials may be made to charity/organization of donor’s choice. Services will be Friday, at 10 am with a brief visitation beginning at 9 am at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave., Memphis, TN. Interment to follow at Emory Independent Methodist Church in Byhalia, MS. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Somerville TN.
