
Ella Alsobrook "Doy" DuBose died November 6, 2016, in Smyrna, Tennessee, after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. Born November 5, 1925, in Capleville, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Melba and Roy Alsobrook. She was predeceased by husband, Marion A. Dubose, Jr., three brothers and one sister, with one surviving sister, Faye Nichols of Memphis. She is also survived by son, Don (Kathy) DuBose of Covington, Louisiana; daughters Joy (Gary) Anderson of Nolensville, Tennessee, Marion Goodman of Parker, Colorado, and Melba (Ancel) Hendrix of Casanova, Virginia. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
A retired Shelby County school bus driver, Doy was an avid gardener and bowler, and was member of Capleville United Methodist Church and Germantown Order of Eastern Star. A devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, "Big Mama" leaves life long memories of her gifts of love for her survivors.
Graveside services will be Saturday, November 12 in Bethlehem Cemetery in Capleville, Tennessee. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation , P.O.
