Elsie Smith Vann, born May 8, 1913 passed away peacefully on October 17, 2012. She was a lifelong member at Temple Baptist Church. Married for 52 years to Orville Chester Vann, who preceded her in death in 1987. Also preceded in death by five brothers and one sister. She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Vann Sweat (Richard) of Bartlett, Tenn., and one son, O.C. Vann, Jr. (Olga) of Aurora, Colo. Also survived by four grandchildren, Mark Sweat (Yvonne) of McAllen, Texas, Susan Cicero (Pat) of Bartlett, Tenn., Paula Onofrio of Littleton, Colo. and Claudia Levin (Mike) of Tucson, Ariz. She also leaves nine great-grandchildren, Rebecca Sweat, Christopher Cicero, Matthew Cicero, Stefania Onofrio, Angelica Onofrio, Olivia Onofrio, Silvana Onofrio, Sean Levin, Daniel Levin, and one great-great-grandchild Hayden Cicero. Visitation will be held Saturday, Oct. 20 from 9-10:30 a.m. at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens at 3700 Germantown Parkway. Graveside service to immediately follow at Big Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Donations can be made to Temple Baptist Church (Olive Branch, Miss.) or donor’s choice.
