Gary A. Acton, 71, died Nov. 20, 2021. He was a Vietnam Veteran, 1970 - 1972 where he received a Bronze Star for Heroism and Valor. Gary returned to St. Louis, Missouri and completed his Master of Economics at University of Missouri in St. Louis. He spent the next 35 years of service working for Federal Express. His passion was travel and motorcycles. He was an advocate for motorcycle safety and long-term member of the Southern Cross MC. Gary was also a canine buff who adopted multiple dogs throughout his life.
He is the son of the late Walter and Gertrude Acton. He leaves two sons, Ryan Acton and wife Cynthia of League City, TX; Travis Acton and wife Andrea of Germantown, TN; four grandchildren: Skylar, Dylan, Lance, and Cameron; one brother, Stephen R. Acton of St. Louis, Missouri.
Gary loved life and lived to the fullest. He will be missed by his family. We will celebrate Gary’s life with a Military burial service in West TN State Veterans Cemetery at 4000 Forest Hill Irene Rd, Memphis, TN on December 7th at 2:30 p.m.
