George P. Weeks

George P. Weeks, 85 went to be with the Lord June 10, 2014 at Baptist East Hospital. He was a US Army veteran, having served in Korea; he later retired from DIPEC, a division of the Memphis Defense Depot. Upon his retirement from government service he devoted his time to his passions, his family, grandchildren and automobiles. He loved working on cars earning him the title “DIPECs Big Helper”and owned his own used car lot after retiring. He was a member of Central Church in Collierville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Madie Weeks; a sister, Ersell Taylor.

He is survived by his wife Bonnie Weeks; daughters Cindy Wells and Donna (Kevin) Nieman; sons, Brian (Mandy) Weeks and Douglas (Kathy) Harris; a sister Margie Driver; grandchildren Kevin Harris, Christina Harris, Zach Weeks, Spencer Pruett, Ben Chandler, Cynthia Wilde, Patrice Christian and Michelle Nieman and by three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Monday, June 16, 2014 at Central Church, 2005 E Winchester Blvd., Collierville, TN. The family will receive friends beginning at 4:30 p.m with services to follow at 6:00 pm. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the Central Church Women’s Ministry.
