Geraldine Anna Schmitt Jacques

GERALDINE ANNA SCHMITT JACQUES was born June 22, 1921 in Saint Claire Shore, Michigan. She went to be with her Lord on August 2, 2012 after an extended illness. Gerry, as she was known by her family and friends, is survived by her husband of 66 years, Thomas A. Jacques; her brother, Joseph E. Schmitt, Jr.; her son, Thomas Jacques III (Becky); daughters, Barbara Towne (Phil) and Peggy Killett (Wes Parker); nine grandchildren, Shane, Brette, Ashleigh, Erica, Matt, Lyndsay, Ryan, Adrienne, and Kristin; eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Gerry graduated from Grosse Pointe High School, where she was on the fencing team and a member of the polar bear club. She was an artist who could transform either a blank canvas or vegetable into a work of art. Gerry was also an avid bridge player, bowler and domino queen. A Mass of Christian burial will be at Holy Rosary Church on Saturday, August 4 at 11 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the church in memory of Gerry.
