GLENDA SAPPINGTON BARGE, 73, of Memphis, devoted and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister and aunt died Sunday, September 8, 2024, at her home. Born July 11, 1951, to Clyde and Mavis Sappington in Memphis, TN she had a life filled with family, church and love.
She was a graduate of Treadwell High School in 1969 where she was involved in clubs and activities and loved learning. She had multiple careers throughout her life primarily as an International Logistics and
Import Manager that she enjoyed. She spent time years ago as a youth basketball coach and more recently as a Youth Director for Covenant Baptist Church. She was an avid reader, enjoyed decorating for holidays, spending time with family and her Cat, Snow.
Glenda was beloved by all and was preceded in death by her son, Kevin Michael Barge, her parents Clyde W. Sappington and Mavis B. Sappington and her niece Angelia Sappington Tinney.
Survivors include: daughter-in-law, Felicia Hansen Barge, and grandchildren, Emma, Tyler and Sydney Barge; brother, Sam Sappington; sister, Margie Sappington Davis (Tim); nieces Amy Dunbar (Chris), Jennifer McElhaney, Melinda Harris (Jeff) and Julie Sims (Mike). She is also survived by 10 great nieces and nephews and three great-great nieces and nephew.
