She was born on August 18, 1942, in Cloverport, Tennessee, to the late Guy and Thelma Leathers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jim Leathers and his wife Katie; her sister, Delsie Avent and her husband Thomas; and her sister-in-law, Sandy Leathers.
Glenda is survived by her loving daughter, Stephanie Taylor and her husband John; her cherished grandchildren, Scott Boggs (Lauren), Jay Taylor, Mark Taylor (Natalie), and Zachary Taylor (Marina); and her adored great-grandchildren, Sadie, Lydia, Mason Boggs, and Zane and Gage Taylor. She is also survived by her brother, Dan Leathers.
A devoted member of Bellevue Baptist Church since 1984, Glenda found great joy in her faith and community. She had a deep appreciation for the beauty of the outdoors and could often be found at Shelby Farms, where she loved watching the sunset each evening. She also treasured trips to Gatlinburg, especially admiring the trees and vibrant seasonal foliage.
Glenda enjoyed life’s simple pleasures—spending time outside, sharing meals at her favorite spots like Danver’s, Chick-fil-A, and Cracker Barrel, and making lasting memories with her family. Her warmth, steady presence, and love for those around her will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
