Helen (Dettor) Nettleton, age 88, of Germantown, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024. She was born at home, on June 29, 1935, in Sardis, Mississippi, to James Shelby Dettor and Emily Dorr Dettor. Helen attended Bellhaven College (Jackson, MS) and Rhodes College (Southwestern College, Memphis, TN). She graduated from Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in 1957. After marrying Charles Nettleton in 1958, Helen devoted herself to raising her five children. In 1984, she rejoined nursing and worked at St. Francis Hospital - Park until her retirement in 2008.
She is survived by three children, Teresa Boucher (Ray), Tommy Nettleton, and John Nettleton; one grandson, Todd Boucher; and four great-grandchildren, Aubrey Elizabeth, Colton James, Everly Rose, and Gavin. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Charles Francis Nettleton and two children, David Andrew Nettleton and James Charles Nettleton.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, March 15, at 11:00 AM, at Catholic Church of the Incarnation, 360 Bray Station Road, Collierville, TN 38017.
