Helen J. Phillips

Helen Juanita Phillips was born July 25, 1940 in Caruthersville, Missouri and passed away November 11, 2016 in Memphis, TN. Helen passed at the age of 76. She was a proud member of Bellevue Baptist Church. She enjoyed hearing her husband Charles singing in the Bellevue choir, playing with her grandchildren and watching them grow into lovely young adults. She enjoyed every minute she had with them and also seeing her sweet great-granddaughter Leighton Marie right after she was born. She loved being with her family and most of all spending every day with her best friend and love of her life “Charlie.” She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles “Charlie” R. Phillips. She is survived by, two children Charles David Phillips (Lorrie) of Water Valley, MS and Lisa Leonard (John) of Cordova, TN, her grandchildren, Matthew Phillips, Shelby Leonard, Lauren Leonard Daniel (Stephen), and one great-granddaughter, Leighton Marie Daniel. The family requests that memorials be given to Bellevue Baptist Church. Lisa and David would like to thank everyone for all the prayers and support in their times of great sorrow, losing both parents just three weeks apart. But they also are rejoicing, knowing that their parents are together again hand-in-hand in heaven. The family cordially invites friends to share remembrances of Mrs. Phillips on Tuesday, November 15th from five o’clock in the afternoon until seven o’clock in the evening at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Ave. in Memphis. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, November 16th at two o’clock in the afternoon also at the funeral home.
