Iris M. Masserano

Iris M. Masserano, age 101, passed away November 1, 2014. She was born August 2, 1913 in Bicknell, IN. When she was 13, she felt the call to start preaching the Gospel. She started traveling in Revival Meetings until she met her husband to be, the late Rev. F. C. Masserano, Sr. They co-pastored Bethel Assembly Church in Memphis, TN for 47 years. Along with her pastoral position, one of her biggest honors, was receiving an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity. She is survived by her children, Iris JoAn McCray; Frances Carole and husband, the Rev. W. H. Yarbrough; Frank Masserano, Jr. and wife, Carol; and Sharon L. Boyd. She also has seven grandchildren and 16 great- grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. F. C. Masserano, sons-in-law, Ray McCray and John Boyd. Her family will receive guests on Wednesday, November 5 from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home located at 5599 Poplar Avenue. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Thursday, November 6 at Bolton Full Gospel Church at 7333 Pleasant Ridge Rd., Arlington, TN with visitation again beginning at noon, Thursday at the church.
