Jackie Colin Medlin

Jackie, born on March 12, 1942, grew up in Caruthersville, Missouri. He graduated from Caruthersville High School in 1961. Jackie married his loving wife, Evelyn, on December 2, 1963. In 1965, Jackie moved to Memphis, TN where he spent 58 years selling insurance. Most of his career was spent with Shelter Insurance. He loved building relationships with his clients.

Jackie loved spending time with his family. His most fond memories were yearly family vacations to Branson, Missouri. He loved cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals and watching the Riverside International Speedway Races in West Memphis, Arkansas. Jackie sang in the choir at Colonial Park United Methodist Church.

Jackie is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Ruth Medlin.

Jackie is survived by his wife of 59 years, Evelyn; his son, Jackie Colin Medlin Jr. “Butch” (Cindy); his son Randle Medlin (Summer); his sister, Judy Luye (Richard); his brother, Gary (Susan); his granddaughter, Robyne Wright (Walker); his granddaughter, Faith Kline (Jake); his granddaughter, Brooke Stringfield (Davis); his grandson, Preston Leach (Stephanie); his granddaughter, Memory Medlin; his grandson, Randy Medlin; his grandson, Joshua Medlin; and his grandson, Caleb Medlin. He missed the birth of his great-grandson, Colton Kline, by a few weeks.

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor death, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the Mid-South Food Bank.

A visitation will be held for Jackie Colin Medlin on April 16, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. The visitation will take place at Family Funeral Care Funeral Home (4925 Summer Avenue Memphis, TN 38122).
