James D. Brown

James D. Brown, age 95, of Memphis, Tennessee went to be with the Lord on Saturday October 12, 2019. James was born December 21, 1923. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Dorothy Maxine Brown, daughter, Nancy Pagenkopf, and grandson, Stephen Brown.

He is survived by his children, Gary Brown(Sally), Debbie Goss(Bobby)and Susan McGoldrick; his son in law, Roy Pagenkopf; his grandchildren, Jason Pagenkopf(Wendy)Kristi Hunt(Aaron) Robbie Goss (Rachel) Ryan Goss; loving great-grandchildren, Ashley Pagenkopf, Tyler Pagenkopf, Hayden Hunt , Hannah Hunt, Jackson Goss, Campbell Goss, Davis Goss, many other loving family members and friends.

James was a devoted member of the Bartlett United Methodist Church for many years. He proudly served his country in the US Navy during WW II. Jim was a retired Methodist Hospital Administrator, as well as Administrator for the Shelby County Healthcare System here in Memphis, TN. He was a loving husband, father, and “Pop”. He will be missed by all.

A visitation will be held from 10:00am until 11:00 am with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Bartlett United Methodist Church, 5676 Stage Rd, Bartlett, TN. The committal service will be on Friday, November 15, 2019 at 11:00am at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, 4000 Forest Hill Irene Rd in Memphis, TN.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pop’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society.
