

James Joseph "Jim" O'Connor, 67 passed away early morning August 3, 2016. Jim was born in Tipperary, Ireland, April 4, 1949 to Philomena Conway. He arrived in the U.S. at the age of 3 to loving and waiting arms, as the first child of Joseph A. & Mary Margaret O'Connor, his adoptive parents who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by a son, Larry David Perry.
Jim attended St Rafael Catholic School in St. Louis, MO, Subiaco Academy boarding school in Arkansas and Christian Brothers College in Memphis, TN. He served in the U.S. Army until honorably discharged in 1971 and accepted employment at what is now VA Medical Center Memphis, retiring August 3, 2009.
Jim loved God, family, Saturday morning wrestling, travel, camping, his quiet early morning swim, reading, walking, riding his bike and his afternoon Irish Coffee.
Mr. O'Connor is survived by his wife of 30 years, Mary Frances O'Connor, sons Casey O'Connor and Jamerson Lloyd Perry (Venus); daughters Constynce SaLynne Perry, Kimberly Young Parks (Tony), and Joni O'Connor. He leaves to cherish his memory 15 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, a brother, Thomas O'Connor (Mary T.), and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends who dearly love him.

Services will be held at 10:45, August 11, 2016 at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on Forest Hill Irene Road in Memphis, TN.
