Mom I love you so much. I think of you every day and thank God for giving great parents. Ines and I went to Pickwick a couple of months ago. I hardly recognized Candy Hollow. There is now a development where our home used to be. We also went to Hare Cemetery. I learned a lot about our family and was very proud. It was especially good to see Nannie, my aunts and uncles and my Great Great Grandmother.

Happy Birthday Mom! We had some wonderful times.. Say hello to Pop for me. All that praying you did for me was answered I have found a Church, that I love, and am doing my best to be a good Christian.  I hope to be with you and Pop in heaven   You were a great Mom. I was a fortunate boy that God sent me to such good parents. I love you and think about you every day.

Mom, Thinking of you on your birthday. Found a church here that is good for me. During church songs I often think of us singing together in church. I always loved that so much. I would try to get you between Pop and I. You had such a beautiful voice but Pop’s we always lovingly descrbed as a joyful noise. David and I watch Vols games together by text. It reminds me of when you and Pop and I would call each other during games. 
I thank God  for giving me such loving parents. I miss you so much.

It has been 5 years now since you went to heaven. I sill remember the moment as if it is now. I thought that as time goes by memories would become dim and less frequent. I was incorrect as I sill think of you everyday. I think of you every morning as I miss out every morning chats during my drive to work. 
Tennessee began it's football season yesterday. I'm sure if you were still here we  would have been on the phone sharing our enthusiasm for the Vols. 
It seems I can remember more different events that happened between us than ever: from me spitting out watermelon seeds in the back yard even though you warned me not to. Half the yard was covered with watermelon vines that summer. And when you and I used to water ski together cutting up and crossing back and forth under each others ropes, just laughing and cutting up.
I text with David during the Tennessee games. We sometimes share stores about you and Aunt Jewell. It makes me very happy. I love our family so much and am so lucky to still have them.
I can never thank you enough for the love, happiness you gave me and for the sacrifices you  and Dad make to give me the advantages I have had in life.

It's been about a week over three years since Mom went to Heaven to be with my Father. I sill think of her everyday and miss her dearly. We talked every morning on the phone. I think she thought I was calling to check on her, which I was, but as important to me was the daily uplifting start to my day that I recieved from her positive attitude and words of encouragement. There were few problems in life that she could not sort and make seem much smaller and easier to solve or any accomplishment she could not amplify and leave me smiling and laughing.
It's funny to me the things I remember about her from day to day.
In Chruch today I recalled what a beautiful voice God gave her. I was fortunate that she passed some of that on to me. We would sit next to each other and I would love to harmonize with her during the singing in Chruch. My father unfortunately was not given the gift of song and although I'm sure his singing was a "Joyful noise unto the Lord," it was monotone me. I  loved my Father and he was a great man in other ways but I always tried to sit my Mom between us as I could not carry a tune while attempting to sing next to him. It never seemed to phase my Mom.  
Mom was 18 when I was born. Young by today's standards but in 1947, just after the war it was different. I am thankful it was so. I got to have her in my life for 71 years. I am so fortunate and thank God that he gave me such a worderful Mother to love me and guide me for so long.

It's Mother's Day 2021. As one might expect, I've been thinking of Mom a lot today. Got out an old album and looked at photographs of her. Made me smile. The last visit we made before she passed, she told Ines, the she thought that I did not realize how much I would miss her when she was gone. She was right. I think of her everyday and miss those phone calls we shared almost every morning. Although I miss her terribly, she left me with a life time of happy memories and a life that is blessed in more ways that I can count because she was my Mother.

I will remember her sweet face and her  (always) concern for my well being.    God blessed my life with her friendship.  She brought joy with her presence.

Many memories come back to us from our life in Memphis: those of working with your mother while Ralph was going for his MDiv and I was in the Business Office. Then we shared times in fellowship while being in the same Life Group.  We were always amazed at her stamina and energy especially exhibited after the Administration building burned and she used her talents to get the facility back in workable order.  That doesn't minimize her organizing the interim working area.  My PHT degree started with much of her influence.  Our sympathy goes out to all of your families; I wish we were closer so we could hug each of you.  Her legacy lives on!

She was my mother Erselle's baby sister and was much loved and respected by all of our family.  I am aware that growing up with her influence in my life contributed to the person I became.  She always had time to listen; she always set a good example for us, she always made me feel special.  I loved her and will miss her.  She was a good Christian woman, a loving aunt and a wonderful role model.

Cecil - My memories of your Mother go back to a time prior to your birth.  I well remember as a child sitting in one of the Bible Classes she taught.  Not only did I learn a lot of Bible, I had to sit still and only speak when she spoke to me, disciplines that have served me well over the years.

During the years you were in the youth group at church, your Mother was very concerned that too much foolishness was allowed to go on both in classes and activities.  However, seeing how well you have turned out, her parenting skills obviously overcame our youthful inexperience.  

Our hearts share your pain of loss of your Mother, but also share the joy that comes when a loved one goes home to our Heavenly Father.
