Jerry Clark Lunsford passed away June 16, 2018 early in the morning of natural causes in Colliervile, Tennessee, in the home of his grandson John Michael Beck after an extending illness. Mr. Lunsford was a retired mechanic and handyman that retired from the General Electric Lamp Plant in Memphis Tennessee in 1991. He continued to do handyman jobs for years after retirement. His loves were his wife, his family, and helping anybody that needed him. He also loved hunting (mostly ducks) and fishing.
Mr. Lunsford was a graduate of Whitehaven High School where he played football. He was a veteran of World War II serving throughout the European Theatre. He was an Expert Infantryman, and was awarded the European, African, and Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon, World War II Victory Medal, The Army Occupation Medal (Germany).
Mr. Lunsford was the son of Mr. Cleatus J. Lunsford and Vera Clark Lunsford of Memphis, Tennessee. He was married to Sybil Lunsford of Memphis, TN until she passed in the Winter of 2009. He was also preceded in death by his sister Ruth Ann Harris.
He is survived in death by his son Lt. Col Jerry W. Lunsford USAF of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, his daughter Pamela Ann Beck of Memphis, TN and Stepson Gerald Cook of Memphis, TN. Additionally, he is survived by his 7 grandchildren, and his 15 great grandchildren.
Mr. Lunsford was a lifelong Christian that will now seek his rewards in heaven. Services will be held at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee 38122. Viewing will begin at 1:00 PM at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Avenue, Memphis, TN with funeral services beginning at 2:00 PM, followed by internment at Memorial Park Cemetery.
