Joan Ayers Byars passed away September 9, 2011 in Memphis Tennessee. Mrs. Byars was born in Coffeeville, MS, July 4, 1934 to Oscar Ayers and Robbie Wright Ayers. She is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Henry Eugene Byars, who adored her. She is survived by her three children, Anita Byars Tauer (Dr. Kurt Tauer), Eric Alan Byars (Karen Byars), and John Tyler Byars. Granny Joan will be greatly missed by her 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Sunday, September 11, 2011 from 1:30 – 3 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens at 5599 Poplar Avenue. Funeral Services will begin at 3:00. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
