JOANNE TABOR GIBSON, 76, passed away Friday, April 11, 2014 in Memphis. Though we are saddened by her passing, we know she is enjoying a good book in the company of a purring cat. She is survived by one son, David Gibson (Bonnie) of Gainesville, GA; one daughter, Debbie Van Pelt (Kevin) of Grapevine, TX; four grandchildren, Beth Garmon, Craig Gibson, Melanie Scott, and Andy Van Pelt; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Eleanor Stein, and her nephew, Marc Byrd. Mrs. Gibson was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Irene Reed Wightman. The family will receive guests Monday, April 14 from 5-7 p.m. at Family Funeral Care on Summer Ave. A memorial service will take place 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 15 also at Family Funeral Care.
