

John Alex Canepari, passed away peacefully at Saint Francis Hospital at 11:45 am, Tuesday, November 26th. He was the beloved youngest child of Joseph F. and Della Robilio Canepari. He leaves a sister, Diane C. McManus and an older brother, Joseph F. Canepari, Jr, (Suzanne). He also leaves a large group of nieces and nephews. Alex was an owner in Lucchesi's Pasta Company here in Memphis . He invested in the company with his cousin Michael Robilio and Mr. Canepari visited there daily.
He attended St, Michaels and St. Dominic elementary schools. He graduated from Christian Brothers High School and went on to attend Spring Hill College, in Mobile, Alabama then returned to Memphis, and graduated from Memphis State University, as it was named at that time.
Mr. Canepari was born at St. Joseph Hospital and was a lifelong Memphian. He remained extremely close to a core group of close friends he knew from childhood and his survivors would like to acknowledge the loving role they played throughout his life. He will be remembered by all who knew him as the kindest and most sincere person imaginable. Never jealous or spiteful, a person who bore the burdens of his life without ever uttering a single complaint about anything. He was truly of a unique and lovable character. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
The family will receive guests for visiting, food and sharing individual “Alex” stories on Sunday, December 1 from five o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens located at 5599 Poplar Avenue. The funeral mass will be on Monday, December 2, beginning at one o’clock in the afternoon at St. Michael Catholic Church located at 3863 Summer Avenue with Msgr. Victor Ciaramitaro officiating. The family has requested contributions in lieu of customary remembrances be made to the Madonna Learning Center or the Monastery of the Sisters of the Poor Clair.
