John Thomas Murphy Sr. was born on December 31, 1957, to Henry and Callie Murphy in Hardman, Tennessee. He confessed Jesus as his Lord at an early age. In later years, he re-confessed his faith and love for Jesus.
John went home on Wednesday, September 16, 2020. He leaves to celebrate his life, his wife, Veronda Murphy; one son, John T. Murphy Jr. (Tayelor); three step-daughters, Loyce Gibson, Lovie Oliver, and Helane Newson; five sisters, Barbara Wainwright, Nancy Marie Worles, Daisy Woods, Martha Freeman, and Teresa Lewis; one brother, Ronnie Murphy; one sister-in-law, Phyllis Thomas (Neunzo); one god-son, Nick Jeans; five grandchildren, close friend, Bruce Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Loretta Lewis.
