She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Proffit, and her beloved son, Tyler Gibson.
Karen is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Joey Gibson; her daughter, Jessica Gibson; her mother, Pat Proffit and husband Larry Lawrence; her sister, Lisa Kriz; her brother, Craig Proffit and his wife, Kim; and her brother-in-law, Randy Gibson. She also leaves behind her faithful fur baby, Turbo.
Karen was the heart of her family — the glue that kept everyone connected. She treasured her daily calls with her mother and sister and never missed a chance to check in on the people she loved. She enjoyed country music, especially listening to Jelly Roll, and could often be found relaxing with an ice-cold Coke in hand. Karen will be remembered for her loving heart, her devotion to family, and the comfort and strength she brought to those around her.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Family will receive friends from 5:00PM to 7:00PM on Monday, June 1 at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN. A graveside service will be at 11:00AM on Tuesday, June 2 at Memorial Park, 5668 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN.
