

Karl Patrick Birkholz, died on Saturday, the 11th of June at the Methodist Hospital in Germantown, Tennessee at the age of 78. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on January 23, 1938 to the late Karl E. & Virginia Murphy Birkholz, Karl was the retired Executive Vice President of Hub-Operations for FedEx. He was a member and usher at Central Church in Collierville, TN; veteran of the U.S.M.C.; National Chairman for the United Way; M.A.T.A. Chairman; consummate volunteer to cancer patient transportation and most passionate in his commitment to the West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery & the West Tennessee Veterans Home campaign fund, just to name a few of his accomplishments. The family cordially invites you to a catered gathering on Thursday, June 16th from six o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38119. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 17th beginning at ten o’clock in the morning at Central Church, 2005 E. Winchester Road, Collierville, TN 38017. Gene Sauls & Sam Wiley will co-officiate the service. Along with his parents, Karl was preceded in death by two siblings. His legacy is lived on through his wife of 28 years Molly Beale Birkholz; daughters Deborah Durso, Lori (David Beddingfield) Birkholz, and Patricia (Greg) Jarvis; sons Robert (Hollie) Birkholz, Jonathan (Lori) Birkholz and James Birkholz; sister Susan Durose; brother Michael E.
