Kathryn L. Clackler, age 97, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2023. She was born October 26, 1925, on a farm in Waynesboro, Mississippi to Sweptson Taylor Whitney and Mary Selena Gilbert Whitney.
Her late husband, Wilbur Cleigh Clackler served in the U.S. Navy and consequently, they resided in many places across the United States. She was a member of Providence Reformed Presbyterian Church. She had moved to Poplar Bluff 17 years ago to reside closer to her daughter, Doris.
She is survived by three children, Doris Smith, Marilyn Jean Sullivan, and Jeffrey Keith Ijams; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She is also leaves her last surviving sibling, Olga Nall.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 27 at 9:45 AM, at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38119. Interment service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM., at West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 4000 Forest Hill Irene Road, Memphis, TN 38125.
