Larry D. Presson, age 71, died peacefully in his sleep over the weekend. He was born on February 6, 1950 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He graduated from Broseley High School in 1968 and relocated to Memphis, Tennessee. He married high school sweetheart, Marilyn Worley Presson, who survives him. Together they had three daughters, Somar Lapekas, Season Presson and Susan Fentiman, who all survive him.
Larry worked for many computer companies throughout his life and eventually retired from Hewlett Packard in 2015. He traveled the world extensively with his work. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and fast cars. He also enjoyed time with his grandson, Lukas Lapekas. Weekly, he joined friends for breakfast at Myrtle’s Diner and spent time at Cowboy Church in Fisk, Missouri. He loved his dog, Frankie, and together they went on many daily walks. Larry loved a good action and Sci-fi movie.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Maxine Presson of Broseley, Missouri and his sister, Ernestine Presson of Memphis, Tennessee. He is survived also by his brother, Gary Presson of Senatobia, Mississippi and his sister, Nancy Wright of Bartlett, Tennessee. He also remained devoted to Jerry Hanley, the son of his late friend, Larry Hanley.
A celebration of life will be held at Memphis Funeral Home on Poplar Avenue in Memphis, Tennessee on Monday, April 5, 2021 at 2:00 P.M.. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Page Robbins’ Adult Day Center in Collierville, Tennessee.
