Mr. Shelton formally worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation and taught in Memphis City Schools. He loved watching airplanes and decided to let his hobby lead him to a career with Fed-Ex, where he was a manager for Fed-Ex security. He had a great devotion and respect for law enforcement.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph D. Shelton, Jr. and Doris Clark Shelton.
He is survived by two sisters and three brothers and numerous nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday October 25 from 5-6:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 6:30 p.m.; all in the chapel of Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee 38119.
Interment will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Thayer Cemetery in Thayer, Missouri.
