Ila Lolita Parker was born in Beaverton, Alabama on March 1, 1940 to Eardis and Ila Seals. Lolita was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Parker, Jr.; her son, Bob Boyett, and her brother, Jerome Seals.
Lolita worked many years as a bank teller and then at an insurance company while raising her three sons. In the early 1980’s, she moved to Memphis where she was employed by several insurance companies. She worked at Blue Line Investigations until her retirement in January of this year. As a longtime member of Family Tabernacle Church of God, she served faithfully in various capacities.
Her family and friends knew her as smart, fun-loving, and playfully mischievous. Most importantly, everyone knew her as a woman of God. Despite her five-year long battle with cancer, she dedicated herself to pray for and help others. She was always looking for that opportunity to share the Gospel; the reason for the hope that she had.
She is loved and will be greatly missed by her sons, Bill Boyett (Kim) and Ben Boyett (Janet) of Alabama; her sisters, Becky Seals of Florida and Debby Wilkinson (Chris) of Collierville. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 12:00-1:30 P.M. on Friday, March 13, 2020 followed by the Memorial Service at Family Tabernacle Church of God, 3946 Tutwiler, at 2:00pm. The interment will be on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at 10:15 AM, West Tennessee Veteran Cemetery, 4000 Forest Hill Irene Rd, Memphis, TN 38125.
